The story of how we met goes a little like this... in 2011 we both lived on university accomodation at Evatt House Newcastle.
Nicki: I still recall the first time I laid eyes on Shorty, I was standing in the common room and spotted him across the room. I didn't know his name at the time but he stopped me in my tracks. I clearly remember thinking who is that tall glass of water! We didn't officially meet until a 90's themed night out at Bar 121 - if I recall correctly Nick (Best Man) said you should dance with my mate Shorty, so I said "sure I'll dance with him, not sure why they call him 'Shorty' though as he is quite tall if you ask me."
Trent: On the contrary to Nicki not really knowing who this 'Shorty' was, Shorty knew exactly who Nicki was. Shorty lived in the same block on Evatt House as Nicki's childhood friend Brooke (Bridesmaid) and once afternoon when Nicki was knocking on Brooke's bedroom door Shorty was standing at the opposite end of the hallway talking to one of his friends. Shorty was that lovestruck that the person he was talking to had to wave his hand in front of his face to get his attention again. It wasn't until the 90's themed night at Bar 121 that Shorty finally worked up the courage to talk to Nicki - it may have had something to do with liquid courage and the fact that he was dressed as his boyhood idol, Ash Ketchum from Pokemon that night.

We’re so glad we… had a big bridal party, 12 all together. It was either 1 each or 12 and after a bit of deliberation we decided to go big or go home! It made the whole day feel like a party from the get go. The more the merrier!
We also booked our good friends the Capulets for our band, they are an all class act and they set the dance floor on FIRE!

After our wedding, we set off on our honeymoon to… Thailand. We relaxed for two weeks in Koh Samui and Krabi and it was lovely.
