Specialising in weddings, we also host corporate and private functions, as well as our weekly dining experience ‘Cultivate at Lazy River’. Additionally, each year we deliver a wide range of ‘Lazy River Events’ including our ‘Travel the World’ dinners, Markets, Stock Route Music Festival and more. 

Front of House Coordinator

Full time or part time role, with hours and salary to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About the role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Front of House Coordinator with a ‘can-do’ attitude and attention to detail. This role will see you lead and shape the service delivery at Lazy River Estate, working with a passionate small team. Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the front of house operations of the venue, with a view to develop and implement strategies to improve customer experience
  • Restaurant execution: work closely with our Executive Chef to deliver a seamless weekly fine dining experience at ‘Cultivate at Lazy River’
  • Event execution: assist the Event Coordinator with weddings and events hosted at Lazy River Estate
  • Recruit, train, motivate and manage your front of house team including wait staff and bar staff
  • Ensure the venue runs efficiently and in compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • General administration related to the position including rostering and inventory 

About you:

A friendly, team player with the below skills and experience would fit perfectly into our small team:

  • Minimum of two years as a hospitality manager, with experience in a similar fine dining or events role
  • A passion for hospitality, with strong customer service skills and personal presentation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines
  • Ability to lead, train and manage a diverse team
  • Willingness to work as part of a small management team, including working flexible hours that will include weekends and evenings to deliver events
  • RSA certification.

Chef

Full time or part time role, with hours and salary to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About the role:

We’re looking for passionate Chef who likes to bring creative ideas to life.

This is a wholistic role that will see you working with a passionate small team to create and implement dining experiences for our events. Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Create and implement creative and seasonal menus for our events
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen including purchasing food and supplies from vendors, monitoring inventory, maintaining equipment and hygiene/safety standards
  • Follow direction from our Executive Chef and assist in directing our kitchen assistant team
  • Help to develop our fruit, vegetable and herb garden

About you:

A positive professional who works best in a team, with the following skills, would be the perfect addition for our kitchen:

  • Previous experience as a Chef
  • Creativity and ideas – this is a role you can make your own.
  • Strong customer service skills and personal presentation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines
  • Self-directed and able to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Willingness to work as part of a small team, including working flexible hours that will include rotating weekends and evenings to deliver events
  • Experience using various software to complete work including Microsoft Suite and emails.

Apprentice Chef

Full time role, with hours and salary to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About the role:

We’re looking for eager Apprentice Chef who would like to learn from Dubbo’s premier chef. This is a wholistic role that will see you working under the direction of our Executive Chef, with a passionate small team, to create dining experiences for our events. You will learn on the job, working towards your Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the organisation and preparation of food in accordance with menu requirements as directed by our Executive Chef.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen including purchasing food and supplies from vendors, monitoring inventory, maintaining equipment, our fruit and vegetable garden and hygiene/safety standards
  • Actively learning and applying culinary knowledge as per requirements of apprenticeship
  • Help to develop our fruit and vegetable garden

About you:

A positive team player, with the following skills, would be the perfect addition for our kitchen:

  • Eager to learn with the ability to take direction
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines
  • Willingness to work as part of a small team, including working flexible hours that will include rotating weekends and evenings to deliver events
